About this service
RAID arrays typically fail when two or more disks drop simultaneously, when controller metadata breaks, or when someone attempts an incorrect rebuild. Rule number one: DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING. Each additional operation can destroy what is still recoverable. At +DR we work with byte-by-byte images of the array disks and rebuild the RAID virtually.
Types of failures we handle
Disk failures
- ●RAID 5 with 2 disks down
- ●RAID 6 with 3 disks down
- ●Failed rebuild (incomplete or corrupted)
- ●Hot-spare disk with simultaneous failure
Controller
- ●Hardware controller failure
- ●Lost configuration
- ●Corrupted RAID metadata
- ●Accidental RAID type change
- ●Accidental array initialize
Software / logical
- ●Corrupted filesystem on top of RAID (ext4, XFS, NTFS, ZFS)
- ●VMware VMFS with damaged LUN
- ●Lost LVM volume
- ●Failed Windows Storage Spaces volume

Price guidance
Final price depends on plan and capacity. Fixed quote before we start.
Factors that affect the price
- ●Capacity per disk (up to 5.5 TB or more)
- ●Chosen plan: Basic (15–25 days), Standard (4–7 days), or Urgent (1–72 hours)
- ●Total number of disks in the array (price applies per disk)
- ●Full-array intake fee: RD$ 4,500 (~ USD 75)
- ●A 2-disk RAID 1 is quoted as a single disk
Frequently asked questions
My RAID 5 failed. Can I rebuild it myself? ▾
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Incorrect rebuilding is the #1 cause of total RAID loss. Power off the server, label the disks in order, and call us. Every minute the system keeps trying to rebuild can overwrite good parity with bad parity.
Do you work with enterprise Dell/HP RAID? ▾
Yes. We have experience with PERC, Smart Array, MegaRAID controllers. We deliver documented chain of custody and work under standard NDA.
What do I do with the physical disks of the failed RAID? ▾
Pull them from the server with labels indicating their order (1, 2, 3...). Keep them in antistatic bags. Do NOT reuse them or plug them one-by-one into a computer.
Do you recover VMware VMFS and ZFS? ▾
Yes. We have specific tools for VMFS5, VMFS6, ZFS pools and Hyper-V VHDs.
